Meet Castiel

Castiel is the founder and lead Landscape Architect of Agrifolia Garden Studio.

She is a Registered Landscape Architect with the Australian Institute of Landscape Architects; and has over 10 years of local and international landscape design experience working on projects within the residential, commercial and public realm spheres.

Castiel’s landscape design career began in the Napa Valley in California designing residential landscapes amongst valleys of vineyards and mountains of chaparral forest. The Napa Valley enjoys a dry Mediterranean climate much akin to Melbourne - characterized by sunny, warm dry summers and cold, wet winters. The similar climates cater for similar plant species and landscape palettes, enabling Castiel’s design foundations in California to easily translate to the Australian gardens of Melbourne.

Castiel’s studies in landscape architecture, horticulture, art, urban and environmental planning and management contribute to her creativity and ability to think laterally and respond to diverse client needs.

The results are refined and robust, environmentally conscious, beautiful outdoor spaces that provide a connection to place; and a space to relax, admire and connect with the natural environment.
